Enshrouded Classes Explained: Shared Skill Tree Builds

Understand Enshrouded classes: the game uses one shared skill tree, with community-recognised tank, ranger, mage and mixed build directions instead.

Enshrouded does not use locked character classes. It gives every character access to one shared skill tree, so the closest equivalent to a class is a build direction made from skills, attributes, weapons and gear. Community sources describe tank, ranger, mage and mixed roles, but those labels are player shorthand rather than official classes.

Why class questions are confusing

Many RPGs lock a class at character creation. Enshrouded does not follow that model, which is why players debate whether “classes” exist at all. The researched discussion explicitly says the game has builds but not classes, and notes that all characters draw from the same tree. That freedom does not mean every combination is equally strong.

A build still needs coherent attributes and a weapon plan. Mixing too many damage attributes can leave a character weak in every direction. Verify patch-sensitive values in the current game build before relying on them.

Common community directions

The collected player discussion names one-handed melee, two-handed melee, sword-and-shield tank, healer mage, elemental mage, ranged archer and dagger rogue. These are useful labels when searching for builds, but they should not be read as official class names. The sword-and-shield tank is the clearest researched route. It uses Constitution and Intelligence, pulls attention with damage, stuns and blocks, and carries a wand or staff for ranged and healing options.

Its source marks the route as compatible with the 1.0 release. Verify patch-sensitive values in the current game build before relying on them. Use the current in-game interface and official sources for exact values.

Classes versus builds

A class traditionally defines a permanent identity. A build is a temporary plan that can change through skill points, gear and respecs. In Enshrouded, the second model is more accurate and fits the shared progression system. Because builds can change, exact rankings matter less than understanding the role you want.

Decide whether you are providing frontline control, ranged damage, healing or mixed utility, then choose skills that reinforce that job. Verify patch-sensitive values in the current game build before relying on them. Use the current in-game interface and official sources for exact values.

What to verify before respecing

Check the current skill descriptions, attribute scaling and equipment requirements before resetting a character. The research notes that respec costs and exact tree recommendations can change, so those values are 待确认 unless a current source confirms them. Start with one reliable build, test it in ordinary combat and a difficult Shroud area, then adjust. A class label is only useful if it helps you make clearer decisions.
